BPI Certified CompostableBiodegradable Products Institute (BPI) is a third-party organization that provides certification for materials and products that biodegrade in a commercial composting environment. “BPI Certified” means a product has gone through a rigorous testing process for compostability. Products are tested in approved, independent laboratories. BPI's scientists check the data to verify that the products meet requirements for ASTM Specifications D6400 or D6868. Passing these specifications means that a product will biodegrade completely, quickly and safely-just like kraft paper, yard trimmings and food scraps. |

No PFAS AddedPer- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a class of synthetic chemicals used in many products to impart water- and grease-resistant properties. While some PFAS additives are found to be safe for their intended use as a food contact substance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Vanguard line uses alternative FDA-approved chemistries to achieve similar performance without the use of added PFAS. In 2020 the FDA reached a voluntary agreement with U.S. manufacturers to phase out certain PFAS compounds by 2024. As bans on PFAS continue to accelerate, we will focus on providing our Vanguard line in all markets that are impacted, in advance of legislation. |

Silver certification prohibits the use of chemicals in the Restricted Substances List (RSL) – including PFAS - set within each product category plus thousands of chemicals listed on globally recognized chemical hazard lists. Every chemical used in the Vanguard formulation went through evaluation. This certification attests that the product does not contain known chemicals of high concern to human health and the environment.
